SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--$AWN #BCorp--Arowana, the established B Corporation accredited investment group, announces that it has been awarded three sought-after Gold Stevie Awards at the 18th Annual International Business Awards, the world’s premier business awards program.

Arowana has been awarded Gold in Most Innovative Company of the Year (up to 100 employees), Achievement in Organization Recovery and Chairman of the Year. The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program, attracting close to 4,000 nominations from more than 60 countries.

Arowana was awarded a Gold Stevie for Most Innovative Company of the Year (up to 100 employees), recognising Arowana’s unique purpose and approach to building companies that it invests in and operate. As a B Corp, Arowana is selectively focussed on enterprises that serve a real purpose, working directly with companies that deliver a positive impact to all stakeholders. The Arowana team brings an uncommon combination of technology, operational and financial capabilities to drive innovation, growth and value creation. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Arowana set a strategy to implement digital transformation across all of its companies globally and results over the last year across the group reflect the successful execution of this strategy.

Arowana’s Gold Stevie Award for Achievement in Organisation Recovery recognised its successful turnaround of VivoPower International (NASDAQ:VVPR). In March 2020, VivoPower's share price was below US$1.00 with a market cap of US$10m; seven months’ later, following a transformational intervention by Arowana, VivoPower’s price achieved an all-time high of US$24.00, representing a 2400% increase. Arowana formulated and executed a hyperturnaround plan to target key strategic, business and cultural challenges, recapitalising the Company and helped consummate a strategic acquisition. The judging panel recognised the remarkable success and speed of this turnaround.

Kevin Chin, Founder and CEO of Arowana was awarded the Gold Stevie Award for Chairman of the Year for his leadership in successfully driving innovation across Arowana’s group of companies as well as for the execution of VivoPower’s turnaround. Kevin stepped in to act as Executive Chairman and CEO of VivoPower to oversee the execution of the turnaround and regenerate the Company’s culture.

Arowana was also awarded three Bronze Stevies for Company of the Year - Business or Professional Services (Medium-size), Energy Industry Innovation of the Year and Achievement in Growth.

Kevin Chin, Founder and CEO of Arowana, said:

“The International Business Awards are the Oscars for the business world and to receive three Gold Stevies is a testament to the Arowana team’s resilience, creativity and commitment during a very difficult operating environment. I am particularly pleased with the success of our drive to digital transformation across all our companies, which have not only transformed their financials but also their future growth trajectories.

“Whilst I am humbled with the recognition of the International Chairman of the Year award especially given the stature of some of the past winners, business is a team game and such individual awards are not possible without a strong collective. I am very proud of what the Arowana team has been able to achieve against the odds over the past year.”

International Business Awards Judges commented:

“Arowana and its Chairman & CEO Mr. Chin deserve accolades for transformational innovation and an inspiring and remarkable turnaround. Their story reinforces that strong and clear-eyed, outcome-driven leadership can turn around the welfare of an organization in the relative brink of an eye.”
