Babajob Announces 5 Million Registered Job Seekers

BabajobBabajob.com, India's largest multi-platform livelihood marketplace for entry-level and informal jobseekers, has announced the registration of 5 million jobseekers on their platform. Babajob leverages technology to find innovative ways to provide individuals from lower income households access to better employment opportunities and facilitate a quick, reliable hiring process for employers looking to hire these individuals from anywhere across India.

Susai Robin is Babajob's five-millionth jobseeker. His job search and story is truly inspiring. The 22-year-old Bangalorean, and former Office Assistant, landed his dream job as a Sales and Marketing Executive, Broadband at Airtel, by just giving a missed call to Babajob.

"I quit my last job as an Office Assistant in September 2015. I needed something more and started looking out for opportunities at various job portals. The job search got frustrating when I didn't find the right fit even after attending several interviews. Three months later, I was introduced to Babajob.com and I found my dream job in less than a week," Susai said in meeting with the leadership team at Babajob.

"I'm extremely grateful to Babajob.com and I have already recommended them to all my friends who are looking out for jobs and made sure they have registered on the site. Thank you, once again," Susai added.

Bharani Setlur, Chief Business Officer, Babajob said, "We have doubled our jobseeker base to 5 million in the past 12 months. This is exciting, but more importantly, this has significantly changed our own view of the number of jobseekers and employers we can connect. We are cautiously ambitious as we continue to scale. We continue to use online and offline strategies; we have seamlessly connected jobseekers with employers making jobs accessible to all and the process of hiring quick and easy."

Founder and CEO, Sean Blagsvedt added, "This is why we do what we do. We strive to reach out to others like Susai, who are looking for an opportunity to succeed and build their careers. We don't just connect jobseekers and employers, we change lives."

"The first few years we invested in in-depth research to understand the market dynamics and recently we have seen unprecedented growth in the numbers. We are extremely proud and excited to announce that we have achieved this milestone," he explains.

Of the 5 million, Bangalore has reported the highest number of users with approximately 9 lakh registered jobseekers; followed by an estimated 5 lakh from Delhi, 4.5 lakh from Mumbai, another 2.5 lakh from both Chennai and Hyderabad and 1.6 lakh from Kolkata.

The company is headquartered in Bangalore but has offices in five other locations including the main metros. Additionally, they have representatives all across India who constantly engage with customers and help them in their job search/hiring process.
