CA Inter Result September 2026: ICAI Declares Results — How to Check & Download Merit List

Why are CA Inter September 2026 results trending right now?

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has declared the CA Inter Result September 2026 for the September examinations, and scores are now live on the official results portal, caresults.icai.org. Alongside the scorecard, a merit list is being shared through ICAI’s official channels. Moneycontrol, India Today, NDTV, The Times of India and INDToday all reported the announcement on the same day, each publishing how-to guides and direct links for candidates. The headlines available for this article do not mention the precise calendar date of declaration or any pass statistics, so candidates should treat the official ICAI websites as the final source of truth.

Multiple national outlets publishing live updates at once is a reliable signal of how closely the result is being watched. The CA Intermediate level sits between the Foundation and Final stages of India’s flagship accountancy qualification, and competition around result days traditionally draws intense attention from aspirants, families and coaching institutes.

Where can I check the CA Inter Result 2026?

Candidates should use the official ICAI channels named in the news coverage. Both addresses below belong to ICAI itself, not to coaching institutes or aggregator sites:

• caresults.icai.org — the dedicated results portal, linked directly by Moneycontrol and NDTV in their reporting.
• icai.org — the Institute’s main website, where India Today says the merit list can be downloaded.

Using official ICAI domains matters, because third-party sites occasionally publish incomplete or outdated information during peak traffic hours.

What is the difference between the results portal and icai.org?

The results portal, caresults.icai.org, is dedicated to publishing scorecards, while icai.org is ICAI’s main website where announcements, merit lists and other official notices are hosted. India Today and Moneycontrol point candidates to these two addresses respectively for the September 2026 cycle, so bookmarking both before result day is a sensible precaution.

How do I check and download the CA Inter merit list step by step?

News outlets describe a straightforward online process. Based on the reporting, the steps are:

1. Open the official results portal at caresults.icai.org.
2. Find the link for the CA Inter Result 2026 (September examinations).
3. Enter the required credentials, such as registration or roll number, exactly as prompted.
4. View the result on screen, then download or print it for your records.
5. To access the merit list, visit icai.org as per the step-by-step guide published by India Today.

Because the headlines summarize rather than reproduce the portals’ exact on-screen flow, the precise fields may differ slightly from the list above. NDTV separately carried live updates and a direct link to download the result, so candidates who bookmarked that coverage can also follow the link published there.

Is the CA Foundation result connected to the September 2026 announcement?

The Times of India covered “CA Foundation and Inter result dates 2026” in the same news cycle, reporting the latest updates on the September examination results. However, the headlines reviewed here confirm the CA Inter result as declared, while for the Foundation level they only reference reporting on result dates. In plain terms: candidates waiting on Foundation results should check icai.org for the specific schedule rather than assuming the Foundation result is also out today.

What is the CA Intermediate course, and why does this result matter?

The CA Intermediate — commonly called CA Inter — is the second of three stages in ICAI’s Chartered Accountancy programme, coming after Foundation and before Final. Students typically reach Inter either by completing the Foundation examination or through direct entry after an undergraduate degree that meets ICAI’s eligibility criteria. The stage covers groups of subjects in accounting, law, taxation, auditing and finance, and clearing it is a mandatory milestone before a candidate can move toward the Final examination and the practical training component of the qualification.

What should I do after checking my CA Inter Result 2026?

First, save an official copy of the result rather than relying on screenshots from third-party pages. Second, if the result is positive, begin planning for the next phase of the programme, because the Intermediate stage must be cleared to advance. Third, if anything on the scorecard looks inconsistent, contact ICAI through the helplines or addresses published on its official website rather than acting on instructions circulating in social media forwards. Finally, treat the merit list on icai.org as the authoritative record if you are checking whether your name appears among top performers.

What details are still unconfirmed in the current reports?

Several points that candidates often look for are simply not covered in the headlines above. There is no mention of pass percentages, the number of students who appeared, subject-wise performance, topper names, or how long the results will remain downloadable. India Today’s reference to a merit list suggests top-scorer recognition is part of the announcement, but the actual list is not reproduced in the headlines. For those specifics, go directly to the official portals.

Why do news outlets run “live updates” on ICAI result days?

Result announcements from ICAI tend to generate heavy traffic, and the exact timing of the declaration, server slowdowns and the release of the merit list can all shift by minutes. A live-updating article saves readers from repeated checks and signals to search engines that the coverage is current — the same pattern seen in the September 2026 coverage, where outlets such as NDTV carried live updates alongside direct download links.

How does the CA career path work after the Intermediate stage?

Passing the CA Inter examination unlocks advanced study toward the CA Final and the practical training component prescribed by ICAI. Students typically balance preparation with on-the-job commitments, and result days tend to shape coaching admissions and peer study groups. Nothing in the current headlines addresses post-result support, but coaching institutes and the Institute’s own website are common next steps for freshly declared CA Inter candidates.

At a glance: The CA Inter Result September 2026 for the September examinations has been declared and is available at caresults.icai.org, with the merit list hosted on icai.org. Check the official portals directly, keep a downloaded copy of the scorecard, and treat news outlets’ step-by-step guides as a convenience rather than a substitute for ICAI’s own pages.
