China’s Pingyang County Emerges As Global Hub for Pet Product Exports

WENZHOU, China–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Pingyang County, located in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province of Eastern China, has a history of 1,740 years. Today, Pingyang has become one of the world’s largest and most well-known export bases for pet products in the world. Recently, the 2023 Overseas Communication Forum of New Era Chinese Brand Image and Silk Road E-commerce (Wenzhou) Innovation and Development Conference was held in Pingyang, where more than 1,000 varieties of pet supplies are produced, including feed, snacks, leashes, toys, clothing, nameplates, kennels, cat climbing frames, and dog chews (Chew Bones).

In addition to pet supplies, Pingyang also plays a key role in the overseas markets concerning printing, packaging, and massage supplies. Pingyang, as one of China’s three major printing equipment clusters, mainly exports to Germany and the United States, maintaining a rapid and stable growth in market value. Pingyang also plays well in the massager industry, gathering more than 300 companies and exporting products to 118 countries and regions.

Pingyang is home to over 2,000 foreign trade enterprises, and more than 700 cross-border e-commerce enterprises, with a total annual export volume of about USD 2.3 billion. Zhang Shouyu, Secretary of the Pingyang County Committee of the CPC, affirms that the cross-border e-commerce industry is currently a significant contributor to Pingyang’s improving international brand reputation and high-quality development.
