Creta Maris Beach Resort Actions for a Sustainable Development and the Support of the Local Community

Hersonissos, Greece, September 15, 2019 –(PR.com)– Creta Maris Beach Resort actively participates in TUI Care Foundation | Futouris Project: “Crete | First steps towards a sustainable food destination, 2017-2019” by organizing special actions, such as Wine Tasting, Olive Oil Tasting, Cretan Vineyard Care, Olive Harvest, Opsigias (traditional production of raisins) and Xelikisma (traditional grapes’ cleaning and raisins’ finish), which highlight in the best possible way Crete’s gastronomic culture, traditions and customs.

Creta Maris Beach Resort, as a member of Metaxa Hospitality Group, participates in the TUI Care Foundation | Futouris Project: “Crete | First steps towards a sustainable food destination, 2017-2019” and designs and implements a series of actions, with the aim at building structures for the development of a sustainable holiday destination, addressing services and issues that expand beyond the Sun and the Sea and at protecting & meeting the needs of destination residents.

Wine Tasting and Olive Oil Tasting, actions that are at the core of Creta Maris Beach Resort’s Sustainability Program, are organized monthly and throughout the tourist season at the resort’s premises. They highlight Crete’s long tradition of viticulture, winemaking and olive oil production, while at the same time, they offer to the guests the opportunity to get acquainted with the special characteristics the Cretan olive oil and wine have, while tasting traditional Cretan delicacies and learning the initiatives “TUI Care Foundation | Futouris” project has.

Moreover, it is worth mentioning that Creta Maris Beach Resort also organizes additional actions, as the Cretan Vineyard Care that took place in May, the Olive Harvest, the Opsigias (traditional production of raisins) as well as the Xelikisma (traditional grapes cleaning and raisins finish) that have already been scheduled, and will take place in the near future, offering to the guests the chance to experience the Cretan customs and traditions.
