Crown Bioscience Signals Increased Investment in Digital Transformation with Appointment of New COO

SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#COO–Crown Bioscience today announces the appointment of John Gu as chief operations officer. Mr. Gu will provide leadership in promoting excellence across CrownBio’s global operations, leveraging his deep expertise in digitalization to drive productivity.

Mr. Gu joins CrownBio from WuXi Nextcode, a global leader in genomic data analysis, where he was general manager for the China business, as well as chief digital officer. At WuXi Nextcode, John spearheaded a block-chain enabled secure mobile health data bank integrating genomic, clinical and behavioral data for precision healthcare. He also led the effort to apply big data and AI technologies to improve medical genomic interpretation accuracy and efficiency and to improve customer experience via digital technologies.

Prior to WuXi Nextcode, Mr. Gu held successive senior technology and operations roles across digital and technology companies, where he successfully led multiple large-scale global IT transformation projects. This includes Alcatel-Lucent, where John led the IT integration and digital transformation across operations in over 140 countries.
