Discovering Technology Treasures Expo by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs

Using Technology to Create a Better Future Life

TAIPEI, Taiwan–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#AI–Adapting to the times of a pandemic, the 2021 TIE Taiwan Innovative Technology Expo will be held online as a virtual exhibition between Oct. 14 and Oct. 23. Out of hundreds of technology development programs (TDPs), the Ministry of Economic Affairs Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT) selected 81 technology R&D results (68 TDP technologies and 13 TDP-incubated innovative technologies) to be displayed at the TIE Discovering Technology Treasures Expo. The selected technologies are innovative, groundbreaking, and bring upgrading solutions to the industries.

At the TIE Discovering Technology Treasures Expo, visitors will see several of DoIT’s innovative applications of smart AI technology that have been extremely popular in recent years. For example, A companion robot incorporates ambient intelligence for seniors living alone”. The companion robot for seniors (PECOLA), leverages AI sensing technology to provide comprehensive health and living safety care to the elderly. Other popular technologies exhibited include new technologies for electric vehicles and self-driving cars, such as the “Self-Driving System & Scenario-Based Verification of Self-Driving Vehicle” that can be quickly installed in various types of cars, and technologies for the circular and sustainable net-zero carbon economy, for instance, “Converting CO2 to high value-added polycarbonate diol”, synthesizing CO2 into high-value resin which recycles and reuses CO2. See the future trends of technology through these 81 outstanding displays!

In addition, for this exhibition, the MoEA DoIT invited participants from not only Taiwan but also Taiwan’s three major export countries in Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand) to jointly talk about the new resilient post-pandemic economy. We welcome everyone from Japan to visit the expo and discuss possible collaborations. Let’s create a better life for the future together with technology!
