Google-Backed Cuemath Announces Its Award-Winning Online Math Curriculum Free of Cost for K-12 Students

Visual Learning Approach Aims to Shrink the Math Learning Equity and Access Gaps in the U.S.

BENGALURU, India--(BUSINESS WIRE)--#1BillionMathMinds--Cuemath, a one-on-one online personalized math and coding tutoring service that follows U.S. Common Core Standards and is accredited by STEM.org, is helping to bridge the growing math gap by offering access to guided math curriculum and exercises at no cost to qualifying K-12 students.

This new program, under the banner of One Billion Math Minds, aims to grow math tutoring access and equity regardless of student location, economic ability or background. Todays top jobs all require a deep understanding of algorithms and math logic.1 However, the World Bank projects $10 trillion in lost future earnings for children due to the pandemic2 if they do not make up lost or delayed skills such as math. Cuemaths free access hopes to boost math knowledge and ready students for the jobs of the future.

  • To qualify, students can simply sign up for a Basic Cuemath membership, which is free. This offers access to a curated curriculum via the Cuemath app and website, including math worksheets and interactive visual learning exercises.
  • To upgrade to Premium access at no cost (typically $299 U.S. per year), students can work with friends, family or other students to refer new members. When two additional students sign up, the original student is automatically upgraded to Premium Cuemath access. This Premium level offers a single free one-on-one introductory class with a tutor and more than 10,000+ visuals, videos, simulations and problems per grade that support self-learning. Students can use practice and assessment worksheets to test their improved abilities. Premium access is good for one year.
  • Students can further upgrade to Classroom users at any time for an additional fee. Classes start at only $16 and offer live online tutoring, either one-on-one or in small groups, plus access to additional practice and education resources.

Cuemath is known globally as the leading visual learning platform for math skills, said Manan Khurma, founder and CEO of Cuemath. As a former math teacher, Im acutely aware of how far our students are falling behind. We want the opportunity to develop these skills to be universal without barriers based on economic status, location or other factors.

As students struggle to recover from pandemic learning challenges, Cuemaths tutoring platform offers live and engaging one-on-one online sessions. Globally, more than 300,000 students are already improving their math skills using Cuemath, and the company hopes to double enrollment each month into 2022.

More than half of public-school K-12 teachers said in a recent study3 that the pandemic has resulted in a significant learning loss. And new evidence shows that the pandemic widened pre-existing achievement disparities in math.4 By offering free access directly to students to catch up, Cuemath also lessens the burden on teachers, schools and governments to make up the skill difference. Students can go at their own pace and be better prepared for the coming school year.

CapitalG has been proud to back Cuemath since our initial investment in 2016. We believe that this initiative to open source much of their world-class curriculum for a year will benefit students around the world at a time of acute need and is highly aligned with Cuemaths core mission to change the world, said Chengpeng Mou, investor at CapitalG (Alphabets independent growth fund) and a Cuemath board member.
