“Gora Kadan” opened “Sushi Kadan” on November 4, 2023

HAKONE, Japan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Since its establishment in 1952, Gora Kadan has instilled itself as a favorite destination among guests from both Japan and overseas, including celebrities and government dignitaries. Gora Kadan is proud to announce the opening of Sushi Kadan on November 4, 2023, under the supervision of Sushi Yoshitake, the famed Ginza restaurant and recipient of three Michelin stars for 12 consecutive years.

At the beautiful unvarnished wooden counter nestled within the former Kan’in-no-miya Villa, which has been a part of the changing seasons of Hakone for many long years, sushi chef Masahiro Yoshitake says, “as a sushi craftsman fascinated by the profoundness of sushi, an integral part of Japanese cultural cuisine, I work to hone my craft daily, which stems from my desire to communicate the ‘oneness of the world of nigirizushi’” as he serves his omakase course infused with this wish. The beautiful course is comprised of 17 items starting with an appetizer. In addition to locally-brewed Kanagawa sake, champagne and wine from around the world are also served to pair deliciously with sushi.

Under a star-filled sky, soothe away your daily fatigue in the plentiful waters of the three natural hot springs, and give your taste buds a delectable treat at Sushi Kadan where you can enjoy a fusion of traditional Edo-style workmanship and artisanal skill… and hospitality of the highest degree awaits.

In 2002, they received the prestigious Relais & Châteaux Welcome Trophy awarded to one facility among the 469 member facilities (at the time) with a high level of customer satisfaction and that provides a high level of customer service. It is highly acclaimed by distinguished guests from both Japan and overseas.
