Hong Kong’s COA and ARGO Earn Spots in the World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 List

HONG KONG & LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The annual list of The World’s 50 Best Bars, sponsored by Perrier, was unveiled as part of a live awards ceremony in Singapore on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Held in Asia for the first time in its history, the ceremony once again celebrated the excellence of the international drinks sector, paying tribute to the visionary bartenders, enterprising bar owners and trailblazing brands that lead the charge in shaping cocktail culture around the world.

The World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 features establishments from 28 cities, highlighting venues that specialize in exceptional atmosphere, service, and drinks.

New Entries Shine in Asia

Hong Kong was represented by COA at No. 20 and ARGO at No. 34.

Specializing in 100% agave tequila, mezcal, and other traditional Mexican spirits, COA offers guests a rich menu that introduces a new, seasonal cocktail each week. Jay Khan’s mission to put agave spirits at the forefront of Asia’s cocktail scene has resulted in a Hong Kong bar taking the number one spot of Asia’s 50 Best Bars for the third year in a row and an honorable position in the top twenty bars in the world for 2023.

The destination gained four ranked places in the 1-100 list overall, ensuring its vibrant bar scene is well-recognized globally. In the 51-100 list, Hong Kong’s Penicillin (No. 71) and DarkSide (No. 97), both returned after a year’s absence.
