InterContinental Hotels Group Appoints Anna-Marie Dowling as Area General Manger for IHG Oman

Muscat, Oman, September 22, 2019 –(PR.com)– InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has appointed Anna-Marie Dowling as Area General Manager for Oman with a concurrent appointment as General Manager of InterContinental® Muscat. Anna-Marie is the first female general manager of this 43-year old iconic property.

Dowling’s expertise and experience in the hospitality industry spans over 27 years, taking on various positions in properties in the United Kingdom and in the Middle East. She joins the team from The Westin Bahrain City Centre and Le Méridien Bahrain City Centre where she was the Complex General Manager. Prior to this, she was the General Manager at the Sofitel London Heathrow and at the Royal Horseguards, a luxury hotel which is part of the Guoman Group.

Anna-Marie has joined the hotel at a pivotal time as the InterContinental Muscat is going through a multimillion dollar room enhancement process. Over her career, Anna-Marie has developed a strong food and beverage and banqueting background which will be essential as the hotel continues to develop its dining concepts.

Anna-Marie started her hospitality career with the Holiday Inn in housekeeping. “I am delighted to join InterContinental Hotels Group. This is an exciting time for InterContinental® Muscat and I am pleased to be part of the team that is leading change to this property with the enhancement process that are currently underway.
