iProov Recognized as a Gartner Cool Vendor

LONDON & SINGAPORE & CATONSVILLE, Md.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–iProov, the leading provider of biometric authentication technology for Genuine Presence Assurance, has been named as a Cool Vendor for Identity Access Management and Fraud Detection by Gartner.

Gartner’s Cool Vendor research is designed to recognize interesting, new and innovative vendors and products. iProov is delighted to be in such excellent company,” said iProov Founder and CEO, Andrew Bud.

iProov’s pioneering work in Genuine Presence Assurance is changing the way that governments and enterprises provide access to secure online services. With an effortless facial biometric verification, organizations including banks, governments, social networks, and travel and healthcare providers can securely verify that an online user is the right person (and not an imposter), a real person (and not a photograph or video presented to a camera), and that they are authenticating right now (and not a deepfake or other cyber attack using synthetic media).

The report, written by leading analysts Jonathan Care, Akif Khan, Tricia Phillips and Felix Gaehtgens, provides recommendations for CIOs on what to look for in identity management and fraud detection:

“Security and risk management leaders responsible for identity access management and fraud detection should…enhance existing enrollment and account recovery capabilities to prevent video replay attacks and ensure genuine human presence.”

iProov technology is being used by the US Department of Homeland Security, the UK Home Office, GovTech Singapore, the NHS, Rabobank, ING, Knab Bank, and more.

Andrew Bud concluded; “2020 has clearly shown that businesses, governments and consumers crucially depend on proof of the genuine presence of an individual online. The rapid shift to the use of remote online services and payments during COVID-19 has inevitably led to a sharp increase in online crime and fraud. Only Genuine Presence Assurance can protect against deepfakes and other sophisticated criminal tactics that will flourish in this new normal.”
