  • Korea’s only whale-themed park offers unique insights into marine life
  • Provides foreign journalists with a press tour in Korea
  • Operates the only whale watching cruise in Korea
  • Whale Culture Village is full of sights and activities to enjoy, including the chance to play the popular game introduced by ‘Squid Game,’ Netflix’s popular series

ULSAN, South Korea–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#Jangsaengpo–The Tourism Division of Namgu Ulsan Metropolitan City announced that it hosted a second press tour with foreign journalists in Korea on August 18, following the first one in May, to promote the appealing Jangsaengpo to foreign media outlets.

Korea’s only Whale Watching Cruise

Jangsaengpo, a beach town in Ulsan’s Nam-gu district, is a popular tourist destination. Jangsaengpo was designated a Whale Culture Zone in 2008 and launched a ‘Jangsaengpo whale watching cruise,’ making it the only city in Korea where whales can be observed. August is the ideal month to go whale watching because of the abundance of plankton at sea. Reservations are required.

Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Zone

The Whale Culture Zone combines history and culture through a variety of whale-themed attractions and programs, including the Whale Culture Village, Whale Museum, Whale Ecology Experience Center, and monorail. The Whale Culture Village hosts theme-specific festivals throughout the four seasons, such as the Whale Festival, Hydrangea Festival, and Horror Festival.

Jangsaengpo Old Town

Located within the Whale Culture Village, Jangsaengpo Old Town is popular with foreign tourists because it allows them to play the ‘Rose of Sharon Blooms,’ a popular game that appeared on Squid Game, and make the Korean sugar candy ‘Dalgona.’
