SMi reports: Leading data and satellite organisations to demonstrate how to achieve comprehensive maritime domain awareness.
At the two-day conference, leading data and satellite organisations will demonstrate how to achieve comprehensive situational awareness at sea.
Gold sponsor at Maritime Reconnaissance and Surveillance Technology 2019, Orbital Micro Systems, specialise in the development and delivery of technology and analytics ready data services through their own satellite constellation. Data provided by Orbital Micro Systems can help militaries and maritime organisations achieve comprehensive Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) and provide solutions to the technological and operational challenges faced at sea.
Mr William Hosack, Chief Executive Officer at Orbital Micro Systems will present “Leveraging Commercial Partnerships for Maritime Safety and Security.” His presentation will cover: “Commercial space-based assets provide global reach and coverage without unrealistic investment”; “Real-time data for weather, wind, and situational awareness – Only when and where it’s needed”; “Secure integration of proprietary data with commercial information empowers enhanced models and views.” Visit www.maritime-recon.com/prcom to view the full speaker line-up and presentation details.
This year, SMi is hosting a pre-conference workshop, “C-SIGMA and S-AIS, Creating a New Paradigm,” which will be led by C-SIGMA. C-SIGMA envisions linking together existing and planned unclassified space system capabilities in a worldwide collaborative network via coordinated regional centers for international Global Maritime Domain Awareness to provide security, safety, environmental protection, resource conservation, as well as disaster mitigation and recovery.
Benefits of attending the half day workshop include: an update on the rapid expansion of Earth Observation satellite capabilities & their impact on the maritime world, finding out about Earth Observation Systems, learning how S-AIS has changed the maritime world, and how analysis with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is impacting maritime operations.
The workshop will take place on Tuesday 5th February 2019 between 12:00 and 16:30 at the same location as the conference: The Crowne Plaza Rome – St. Peter’s Hotel, Rome, Italy.
