LeEco Le1S launched: Everything you need to know

After much buzz and speculation about the India launch of LeEco ‘s (formerly know as LeTV) new smartphone, Flipkart unveils the real deal. Here’s everything you need to know about the first of two LeEco models, launching exclusively on Flipkart — the LeEco Le1S.

It was not too long ago that LeEco, a leading Chinese information technology and content company, entered the global smartphone space. Better known for their video streaming business, they caught the world’s attention in April 2015 with the launch of four premium mobile phones, better known as the ‘Le Superphones’.

No fuss, no fluff. Evolved from the original Le 1 the LeEco Le1S presents a rounder body without interrupting bezels. An all-alloy unibody metal design and a 5.5 inch, full HD, IPS screen immediately gives you a sense of its detailing and higher build quality. The compact dimensions and weight of just under 170 grams makes the Le1S easy to handle. The phone is currently available only in gold color.

Under the skin of the Le1S is a robust and time-tested 64-bit, 2.2 GHz Octa-Core Helio x10 chipset. In plain English, this means more power to the habitual multitasker. The core functionality is further enhanced by 3GB RAM and a whopping 32GB built-in memory. Inside the shell is also PowerVR G6200 GPU that enhances multimedia capabilities and this can be experienced via the latest EUI 5.5 based on the Android Lollipop.

A delight for shutterbugs and selfie-aficionados, the Le1S houses a 13-megapixel rear camera f/2.0, PDAF and a bounteous 5MP front snapper. This, along with 1920*1080 pixel resolution tech, backed by 403 ppi pixel density, offers optimum use of the 13.97cm (5.5) Full HD screen display. For those wary of sneaky siblings, the screen (which doubles up as a mirror) also has a fingerprint scanner—one of the fastest available in the industry.

Great performance demands a workhorse of a battery. The Le1S has a 3000mAh non-removable, lithium-ion battery cased inside the device. The Le1S has a stand-by time of about 2-3 days and in case of an emergency, the Quick Charge with Type C Connector comes to the rescue.

In all, the LeEco Le1S looks like an exceptional piece of engineering, backed with some drool-worthy features. Additional functionalities like 4G readiness, Bluetooth V4.1 and Wi-Fi are standard on the device.

The LeEco Le1S has been officially launched in India and will be available exclusively on Flipkart at an introductory price ofINR 10,999.
