mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection Launches a Special Plan Focusing on the Motif of “The Phantom of the Opera” as Interpreted by the Shiki Theater Company

TOKYO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection is launching its first collaboration with the Japanese Shiki theater company with its latest production of the popular musical “The Phantom of the Opera”. As part of the collaboration, the hotel plans to use various themes and images from “The Phantom of the Opera” for a limited period until January 10th, 2022. mesm Tokyo is the first hotel to be affiliated with both the JR East Group and world leading hotel chain, Marriott International. Demonstrating its core values, the hotel will welcome guests, stimulating all their senses with the spirit and zest of Tokyo�s “now”.


The Shiki Theater Company’s production of “The Phantom of the Opera” is a profound and moving depiction of the tragic love between the diva Christine and the disfigured outcast who lives in the basement of the Opera house. As the first part of the special collaboration plans, the hotel offers a concept room using “Christine’s dressing room” as its theme.

The second part of the collaboration is the launch of “The Phantom of the Opera” themed lunch and dinner programs reproducing scenes from the play, with lunch as the first act and dinner as the second act. They will be served in the French restaurant “Chef’s Theater” on the 16th floor of the hotel. Each dish will be served in a French Bistronomie setting, reminiscent of the sumptuous stage art of the play. Each scene of the story will be a given a dramatic rendition through the dishes presented, enhanced by ingredients skillfully selected by executive chef, Koki Kumamoto.

Guests can enjoy a wide range of dishes while listening to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical masterpieces selected from “The Phantom of the Opera”.

We are also offering plans for inclusive stays with lunch and dinner for customers who wish to immerse themselves in the world of “The Phantom of the Opera”. After arriving at the hotel, guests can check in while enjoying the elegant lunch provided in the restaurant. There is also a late check-out privilege at 13:00. In their rooms, guests can enjoy 19th century Paris inspired confectionery and drink as depicted in the story.
