The hotel will host the photo exhibition ‘TOKYO 1961 – William Klein’ exclusively for its staying guests at the private salon ‘Club mesm’ on the 25th floor from May 30, 2024, to October 29, 2024.

This exhibition, marking Chapter 1 of the ‘TOKYO WAVES ART EXHIBITION,’ is a collaboration with the renowned Japanese art gallery ‘AKIO NAGASAWA Gallery,’ known for its curation of works by famous photographers both domestically and internationally. Within the hotel concept of ‘TOKYO WAVES’ (TOKYO VIBES) guests have a unique opportunity to appreciate art pieces.

The private salon ‘Club mesm’ offers a special space with a large terrace exclusively for hotel guests under the theme ‘JAPAN FLOW.’ Here, guests can indulge in three signature cocktails named after Kanji characters such as ‘Coffee’, ‘Matcha’, and ‘Lemon’, providing an exclusive experience that will enhance their stay.

The inaugural exhibition, titled ‘TOKYO 1961 – William Klein,’ showcases photographs by William Klein, a giant in the world of photography. He is best known for the bold and provocative work he has made on the streets of iconic cities such as Paris, New York, Rome Moscow and Tokyo. Featuring 10 precious works from his photo book ‘TOKYO’ (1964), capturing Tokyo during his two-month visit back in 1961, the exhibition allows guests to immerse themselves in the Tokyo of that era, as seen through Klein’s lens. Primarily comprising silver gelatin prints, the exhibition pieces are also available for purchase.

Beginning with a collaboration with ‘AKIO NAGASAWA Gallery,’ led by Akio Nagasawa and operating three galleries in Tokyo, mesm Tokyo continues to offer various memorable experiences for all its guests.
