MetLife “Hacks” Recruitment to Hire Top Tech Talent in Malaysia

Hackathon registrations now open for October virtual coding challenge

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia–(BUSINESS WIRE)–MetLife is hosting a virtual hackathon in October, as it seeks top tech talent to join one of the world’s largest insurance companies in one of its fastest growing regions.

“Hack4Job Coding Challenge – Kuala Lumpur” on October 14-16 will pit teams from across the world in a race to build innovative solutions and win prizes. At the end of the hackathon, qualifying participants will be invited to interview for a range of software development and cloud engineering roles in MetLife and its affiliates.

MetLife is targeting dozens of roles, including infrastructure engineers, solutions architects, scrum masters and full stack engineers, as part a broader push into Malaysia and the Asian region.

“We’re excited to meet the best and brightest technologists at the hackathon and help them find opportunities at MetLife,” said MetLife’s Asia Chief Information Officer Siew Choo Soh.

“As a leader in digital innovation, MetLife offers top talent a chance to grow in their careers and make a real impact – by reimagining insurance and delivering new, digital solutions for our business and our customers.”

Recognizing Malaysia’s potential as a tech hub, MetLife established its technology Center of Excellence (CoE) in Kuala Lumpur more than 15 years ago to access the highly trained and multilingual local workforce. The CoE is well positioned to leverage the city’s geographic proximity to Asia, developed infrastructure, and business-friendly policies to serve MetLife businesses and customers across the region.

Registrations for the hackathon are open until October 7, through the Hack4Job platform: https://jomhack.com/metlifehack4job/.
