Mongolia Construction Industry Report 2022: Commercial, Industrial, Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities, Institutional and Residential Market Size, Trends and Forecasts 2017-2026 – ResearchAndMarkets.com

DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The "Mongolia Construction Market Size, Trends and Forecasts by Sector - Commercial, Industrial, Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities, Institutional and Residential Market Analysis, 2022-2026" report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering.

The industry is expected to expand by 27.1% in real terms this year, predominantly due to low base effects following the contraction in 2021 and an improvement in consumer and investor confidence amid the gradual progress in Mongolia's vaccination program.

Outbreaks of the Delta variant of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the subsequent imposition of lockdown restrictions exacerbated weaknesses in the Mongolian construction industry in 2021. The industry contracted by 32.7% in real terms last year - down from an annual decline of 3.2% in 2020. Despite returning to growth, the industry's output is expected to remain below its pre-pandemic levels (2019) throughout the forecast period.

The publisher expects the Mongolian construction industry to expand at an annual average rate of 4.5% between 2023 and 2026, supported by the government's investment on transport, residential and energy and utilities construction projects. Previously in May 2021, Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene passed an order to allocate MNT420 billion (US$144.2 million) annually between 2022 and 2024 towards the development of Mongolia's road network.

Forecast-period growth in the construction industry will also be supported by investments as part of the 2021-24 recovery plan, that was launched by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in August 2021. The plan helps in improving the economic situation of the country by focusing on three key areas: inclusive social development and economic opportunity, climate-resilient infrastructure, and sustainable, green, and climate-conscious development.
