Most telecom operators, including state run MTNL and BSNL, failed the random call drop tests drawn by the regulator TRAI to check the quality of their network and services aspart of its efforts to rein in call drop menace..

According to the test report issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Thursday, none of the telecom operators have shown an improvement in drops calls in Mumbai, Pune and Bhubaneswar. The regulator conducted call drop tests during the period from December to January. As per TRAI benchmark, not more than 2 percent calls on a telecom operator’s network should get automatically disconnected.. The regulator conducted tests on both 2G and 3G networks.
