BURNSVILLE, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Suresh Krishna, President, and CEO of family-owned Northern Tool + Equipment, was awarded by New Delhi-based Asian media powerhouse AsiaOne as a �Global Indian of the Year,� a celebration of his successful executive career to-date and an acknowledgment of his recent successes charting the course for the 40-year-old national retailer.

With a unique global perspective and decades of experience as a C-suite executive, Krishna has had an executive career working in multiple countries including India, Oman, UAE in the Middle East, Switzerland and now in the U.S. Suresh has progressively led with a customer and innovation first mindset, he places product innovation and customer experience at the forefront of his vision for the company.

Coming on as CEO and President in April of 2020, Krishna has already overseen a 40 percent increase in revenue and the addition of 1.5 million new customers over the last two years. In recent years, Northern Tool has also beefed up its product inventory�from 40,000 items pre-COVID to more than 100,000 currently�spanning 60 categories that support the pros and serious DIY�ers who work in construction, landscaping, auto, electrical, welding and more.

Krishna traveled from Minnesota to New Delhi in August to receive the award at AsiaOne�s honorary ceremony.

Suresh Krishna was appointed to the role of President & CEO of Northern Tool + Equipment in April 2020 after having served on the NTE board for five years. As CEO, Suresh is leading and implementing a transformational strategy and culture change, focused on driving growth from within its core and through acquisition of new growth platforms.

Prior to his role as CEO at NTE, Suresh served as the Senior Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain at Sleep Number. Before that, he was at Polaris Industries, where he was part of the executive leadership team and helped the company globalize its operations and sales, first as a Vice President of Operations and Integrations and then as the Vice President of EMEA in Rolle, Switzerland. Earlier in his career Suresh worked at global companies like Booz Allen, Diageo and United Technologies.

Suresh is an expert practitioner of �Strategy Deployment,� a methodology for strategy development and strategic execution that delivers transformational performance in complex businesses. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in India and an MBA from Northwestern University�s Kellogg School of Management. He serves on the Board of Advisors of the University of Minnesota�s Carlson School of Management.
