Samsung determined to learn from this experience and their finding concluded that the note 7 failure were due to different factors that originated in and more specific to the two different batteries. In the first instance there was a electro deflection and incorrect positioning of the negative electrode tip in the upper right corner of the battery and in the second occurrence an abnormal well spot led to an internal short-circuit.
Now Samsung identified the problem and had also undertaken extraordinary measures to further improve their quality assurance process. In the new process Samsung had introduced a eight-point battery safety check including charge and discharge test. In the new test Samsung check the internal component with x-ray scans, technician subject devices to extremes inside and out. This is to ensure that the new devices are safe and it assures Samsung Quality assurance with their enhanced protocols.
Samsung now goes beyond the industry standard for quality and safety controls. This is part of being committed to a safer devices from Samsung.
Samsung will learn from this experience and will evolve.
