SDIA Drives Industry Transformation With Smart Displays

TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Smart displays serve as an important medium for human-computer interaction applications. Acknowledging this, the Industrial Development Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs established the Smart Display Industrial Alliance (SDIA) to streamline the upstream and downstream of the panel industry. The SDIA targets four domains: smart healthcare, smart mobility, smart retail, and smart edutainment. Its goal is to develop competitive application integration services leveraging smart displays and set them into motion.

Since its establishment, the SDIA has facilitated several cross-domain collaboration solutions. In the smart healthcare domain, the Pharmacy Department of the Taipei Veterans General Hospital embraces E Ink Holding Inc.’s ePaper labels, significantly improving drug management efficiency and medication access accuracy.

In smart mobility, General Interface Solution Ltd. partnered with Taoyuan Metro, introducing innovations such as curved transparent displays, ePaper color billboards, transparent LED interactive screens, and more. These enhancements have enabled visitors to swiftly access information on public transportation.

Besides, in smart retail, the SDIA matchmade Innolux Corporation and Century Asia Cinemas to install a 300-inch AM Mini LED audiovisual wall, marking the country’s largest installation to date. Combined with naked-eye 3D displays integrated with AI technology, they strive to bring the best immersive experience for cinema-goers.

In smart edutainment, Jector Digital Corporation introduced large LED displays in both the Chung Mei Auditorium of Fu Jen Catholic University and Taipei Municipal Rixin Elementary School. These displays have enhanced the utilization of campus space and transformed the venues into the places suitable for international competitions and performances.

The SDIA aspires to deepen the collaboration within the smart display industry, while broadening the application of smart displays in targeted domains. Additionally, it seeks to promote Taiwan’s top-tier smart display solutions on the international market. (R.O.C. Industrial Development Administration of the Ministry of Economic advertising)
