Online PR News 06-April-2016 Stylist Patricia Lagmay has established herself as an invaluable asset to the fashion industry over the past seven years. Some of her latest projects include her work with Vancouver and New York-based fashion label Priory, where she has contributed her talents for three consecutive seasons.

Lagmay's notable client list encompasses multiple reputable brands such as Canadian talent agency THEY Representation, Canadian-American retail chain Aritzia, multinational conglomerate Samsung, and most recently, Priory.

Priory is a women's clothing line born out of Vancouver, BC. Lagmay has worked with the line for the past year and a half, specifically styling and art directing their Fall '15, Spring '16 and Fall '16 collections. "Priory creates women's clothing with a consideration for comfort and functionality," Lagmay said of the line. "In the past two years, they have been picked up by 20+ stores worldwide and have gained notable editorial nods as up and coming designers to look out for. My contribution to this growth has been in establishing who the Priory woman is, by showcasing how she wears her clothes as the seasons progress.

As the Stylist and Art Director, Lagmay is in charge of, "Putting all the looks together and setting the tone and overall creative direction for their [photo] shoots," she stated. Images from these photo shoots are used to create Priory's seasonal lookbooks, which are key to the line's outgoing sales and branding material.

The lookbooks, which were showcased in both print and digital form, were well received by retailers who traveled from all over the world to attend the women's tradeshows in New York. "Tradeshows (or market, as some refer to it) are where retailers come to view the lines theyd like to buy and stock in their stores for the following season," Lagmay explained. The lookbooks Lagmay styled were also sent to prominent editors and other members of the press worldwide.

"A lot of my inspiration for the line comes from Priory's designer herself, Eunice Quan," said Lagmay. "The Priory woman is an extension of who she is in a lot of ways practical but always with an eye towards good design. She has a lot of things on the go, so while she cares about aesthetics, she won't sacrifice it for functionality."

Quan is Priory's co-founder and designer, and has worked closely with Lagmay throughout her time as Priory's Stylist. "Patricia is able to bring elements of art, tranquility and simple beauty to our photo shoots," Quan commented of Lagmay's unique styling aesthetic and high-level abilities. "She is extremely well versed in the current trends in fashion editorials and therefore can envision a photo shoot that is relevant, exciting and new. On set, she is efficient, thought-out and very hardworking."

Additionally, on a business-level, Quan regarded Lagmay's styling as being vitally important to their sales process. "The way in which the clothes are styled on the model hugely impacts a buyer's perspective and ultimately affects our sales numbers every season," Quan explained. "Ever since we have been working with Patricia, our buyers have expressed that they have a much better understanding of our brand and are impressed with our aesthetic growth."

When asked to detail one of her most memorable experiences with Priory thus far, Lagmay recalled, "For Spring '16, Eunice and I went to Home Depot to source background and prop material for the shoot. We didn't have anything specific in mind before going, but walked out with various miscellaneous materials that added dimension and the right amount of grit to the final images. That sense of spontaneity is what I love about working with brands like Priory. The freedom and flexibility to experiment means we always end up with interesting imagery."

Like all accomplished fashion labels, Priory didn't reach its acclaimed level of success overnight. Thanks to Stylists like Lagmay who've worked closely with the company over the years, Priory has garnered international recognition, with many experts in the fashion industry taking note.

"It's been really rewarding working with the team season after season. The feedback they've received from industry professionals is that the lookbooks have gotten consistently stronger. This is coming from people who have been in the trade for decades, so it's amazing to hear," said Lagmay.
