The 5th World Media Summit (Yunnan, China) and the 2nd Yunnan International Communication Forum kicks off

KUNMING, China–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#Kunming–More than 300 representatives of around 80 institutions, including media outlets, international organizations and think tanks, from nearly 30 countries and regions, gathered in Yunnan for the fifth World Media Summit and the second Yunnan International Communication Forum, which kicked off on December 5 in Kunming, the capital city of province Yunnan in southwest China.

While the Kunming Initiative has been adopted at the opening of the summit on 5th Dec., a theme activity named “There is a lifestyle called Yunnan” has been launched, and the international communication hot words list has been released by the Chinese media Xinhuanet.

According to the agenda of the summit, the attendees will discuss a variety of topics, including the new opportunity for international media’s cooperation created by Belt and Road Initiative, the international promotion for cities taking “There is a lifestyle called Yunnan” as an example, the international cultural exchange, and corporate international branding. They will have a series of visits and exchanges in various places in Kunming as well.

Located in southwestern China, Yunnan Province is China’s window and gateway to Southeast and South Asia. Yunnan is the most ethnically diverse province in China, with 25 hereditary ethnic minorities in addition to the Han Chinese.

Yunnan has all the ecosystem types on the earth except oceans and deserts, and has a very important position in the conservation of biodiversity in China and even in the world, and is known as the “Kingdom of Animals,” the “Kingdom of Plants” and the “Garden of the World.”

In 2021, the epic trek of Yunnan’s ‘wandering Asian elephants’ going north and returning to the south has attracted global attention.

Now, Yunnan is creating an ecologically green, colorful, harmonious, and happy, open and inclusive “There is a lifestyle called Yunnan.”

At the opening of the summit, Yunnan province extended invitation to the whole world to invite friends from all over the world，to come to Yunnan to experience the “There is a lifestyle called Yunnan,” to explore the magnificent nature, to feel the local human touch, to enjoy the poetic habitat, and to taste the life of Yunnan, and to savor the Yunnan lifestyle and witness the wonders of life together.
