The Enterprise File Fabric Now Facilitates Files Stored on S3 Compatible Object Storage and Other Storage Systems to be Edited Using Microsoft Office Online

More than 60 storage and data clouds are securely integrated into enterprise ecosystems, allowing users to securely collaborate in real-time editions of document formats such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

London, United Kingdom, November 30, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Storage Made Easy (SME) announced that it has integrated Microsoft Office Online to bring a valuable new feature to its File Fabric solution to help teams to work together in a variety of ways, from real-time collaborative editing to group task management.

Microsoft Office Online is an online office suite offered by Microsoft, which allows users to create and edit Microsoft Office documents using just their web browser. It supports editing of document formats such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. The MS Office Online integration also provides both a single-user edit mode, as well as a multi-user real time collaboration edit mode.

Integrating with the File Fabric means hosted File Fabric users can now edit files stored in Amazon S3, Cloudian, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Storage or any of the 60+ storage and data clouds supported, directly in the SME File Fabric using Microsoft Office Online.

Additionally any files edited using the integration can be transparently encrypted using FIPS certified encryption whilst being pro-actively monitored, and audited for compliance purposes.

The File Fabric unifies corporate on-cloud and on-premises storage into a single gloal file interface making it easier and more secure for end users to access data from desktops and mobile devices. Shared folders, ultra secure file sharing, synchronization and collaboration are available through a full suite of desktop, mobile and web applications across the gamut of the unified corporate storage. Additionally, corporate IT gains governance and compliance controls that work from a single point across their corporate data estate.

Jim Liddle CEO said, Microsoft Office is the de facto standard of editing documents for many companies. With the Office online integration, company users can now open and edit files from many different file stores using Office apps like Word directly from their web browser. This brings an immense amount of productivity to their existing storage ecosystems.
