University of Cincinnati and University of International Business and Economics Attain Prestigious Global Centers of Insurance Excellence Designation for 2023

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The International Insurance Society (IIS) has named the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner III Center for Insurance and Risk Management and the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) as 2023 inductees for the Global Centers of Insurance Excellence (GCIE). The IIS recognized the institutions at an awards ceremony held during the Global Insurance Forum on Nov. 6 at the Hilton Singapore Orchard. With the addition of the University of Cincinnati and UIBE, there are now 35 GCIE designees representing 11 countries.

The prestigious GCIE recognition is given to risk management and insurance programs that demonstrate a commitment to advancing knowledge, fostering research, and building vital connections between academia and the industry. Designees meet stringent criteria based on student qualifications, course offerings, and graduate employment rates. This program was developed by the IIS to help address the global talent gap by elevating the standards of insurance education globally.

The GCIE designation is retained for five years and subject to renewal thereafter. To foster collaboration and strengthen ties within the industry, all GCIE designees receive a one-year complimentary membership to the International Insurance Society (IIS). With members hailing from over 50 countries, IIS serves as a dynamic platform for networking and collaboration, allowing GCIE designees to establish themselves as the gold standard in insurance education on a broader scale.

Applications for the GCIE are accepted on a rolling basis.
