Since March 2021, applications for US institutions from international students have increased more than three-fold, partly fuelled by the rapid adoption and growth of the Adventus.io platform. In the same period, Canada grew 148%, UK grew 150% and Australia dropped 51%.
In September 2021, the most popular courses for international students in the USA was IT (50%) surpassing Business (25%) and Engineering (14%).

With comparatively open borders, the UK remained the top destination market for international students, consistently claiming the highest market share.
Canada came in as the third most popular destination market for international students and one that has remained relatively stable compared to other markets, experiencing application share growth from 16% in September 2020 to 22% in September 2021.
