Vodafone rolls out 4G SIMs in Kolkata
Vodafone India started launching their 4G service in more cities. All the operators who have 4G licences are in hurry to launch their service before the commercial launch of Reliance Jio which is scheduled in March 2016. All the 4G operators want to take the first mover advantage. Airtel, Idea, Vodafone all these leading operators are in the race.

Vodafone India has announced the availability of 4G-ready SIM cards in and around Kolkata from today. The cards will be available at exclusive Vodafone stores and will be made available at multi-brand outlets subsequently in a phased manner, the company said in a statement.

According to the release, the SIMs are being made available in advance of the commercial launch of Vodafone’s 4G services in Kolkata. Customers will need 4G-compatible handsets and the new 4G-ready SIMs to avail of the services.

Vodafone launched its 4G network in Kozhikode (Kerala) earlier this week following its successful launch in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. It is built on the 1800 MHz band and will enable customers to access internet via mobile at high speeds across a range of smart devices.

Vodafone seems to be preparing Mumbai too for the service launch as the city saw roll out of 4G-ready SIMs at the beginning of the year.

Hopefully Mumbai will be the next city to launch 4G by Vodafone India.
