WAFA Announces the Winners of the 2018 Water Air Food Awards

These �silent heroes” beat the odds to provide their communities with clean water, air, and food. The world needs to hear from them!

Copenhagen, Denmark, December 13, 2018 –(PR.com)– WAFA has announced the winners of the 2018 Water Air Food Awards.

The Water, Air and Food Awards targets breakthrough low-tech, high impact, local innovations for clean water, clean air and nutritious food. WAFA acknowledges and promotes these low-cost solutions so that they can be replicated and create significant global impact. This year’s winning projects include:

Water Category
– Rainwater Harvesting 30,000 well System, Mazhapolima from India

Air Category
– Family Health Program Solar Ovens, FUPROSOMUNIC from Nicaragua

Food Category
– The Fish Farm Project, People and Planet Life Foundation from Nigeria

Youth Category
– Water Explorer Program, Ebomvini Primary School from South Africa

The award winners will receive a certificate of achievement and a WAFA trophy presented by WAFA ambassadors at their project locations, as well as a cash reward transferred directly to their accounts (no middlemen).

Out of 171 applications, the projects were among the 10 finalists selected by a committee of international sustainability experts. The projects were then voted under different categories in the global voting campaign.
