The 2019 Rugby World Cup will be the ninth to date. This will be the first time the World Cup will be hosted in Japan and Asia.
The opening match will take place at the Ajinomoto Stadium in Chofu, Tokyo. The final will take place at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama.
Vice President Finnegan Meyers had this to say, "This is going to be an incredible spectacle for Japan. After the huge success of the Football World Cup back in 2002 where Japan and Korea put on a hell of a show we expect the same success for this one."
The sport of Rugby is hugely popular in Asia with the locals especially after the amazing run Japan had in the last World Cup and continues to grow with the crowds and following growing larger by the year.
