In December 2018, Wonect upgraded their system wonect.com, its large scale e-commerce website. This upgrade has greatly improved the speed, design, and functionality of the website.
Wonect.com is not a mall-style e-commerce site, as the company directly sources all products. This strategy has allowed the company to eliminate commission and handling fees that are typically passed on to customers, allowing Wonect to maintain a competitive price advantage over larger, mall-style websites. Additionally, Wonect is continually increasing the amount of products sourced directly from manufacturers in further efforts to boost their price competitiveness.
Through their market research, Wonect found that customers shopping for international products online often encountered a number of problems. From products failing to arrive, unexpected currency conversion fees, and an increasing number of untrustworthy websites, customers believed that there were a number of ways international orders could go wrong.
Since opening for business in 2015, Wonect has endeavored to address and eliminate these concerns through a number of channels. In an effort towards transparency, Wonect actively encourages customer reviews of all products sold on the website. All orders are shipped with tracking numbers, so customers can follow their order in transit, and real time customer support is available in English via chat.
When speaking about the site upgrade, Wonect founder and CEO Kota Mizuguchi stated, “Through this upgrade we have aimed to increase wonect.com’s ease of use and security. These improvements mean that customers can more easily access Wonect’s low prices and shop with peace of mind from Japan, no matter where in the world they are.”
