World Hardware Capital, A Haven for Design — 19th International Industrial Design Competition for Hardware Products Invites Global Entries

YONGKANG, China–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Organized by the Yongkang Municipal People’s Government and co-organized by the Yongkang Science and Technology Bureau and Zhejiang Yongkang Hardware Productivity Promotion Center Co., Ltd., the China International Industrial Design Competition for Hardware Products has been successfully held for 18 consecutive years.

This year, the 19th Competition officially extends an invitation to designers across the globe. The submission period will conclude at 24:00 (Beijing Time) on October 10th, during which students, faculty, design agencies, companies, and freelance designers from universities and institutions worldwide can register for free. With a total prize pool of 3.63 million RMB, the contest features two primary categories:

1. The “Golden Star” Product Award, aimed at designs with prominent commercial and social value that can be rapidly industrialized, particularly those that integrate deeply with Yongkang’s manufacturing sector.
2. The Creative Sub-Category Competitions, jointly initiated by the organizing committee and six local manufacturers in Yongkang, targeting specific product categories such as outdoor leisure goods, quickly-assembled houses, sports leisure vehicles, health cups and pots, rehabilitation care products, and fitness equipment. Judging will be based on criteria including innovation, feasibility, completeness, and market potential.

This prestigious competition serves as a platform to showcase and promote innovation in hardware design, fostering collaboration between designers, manufacturers, and industry experts from around the globe. With its roots deeply embedded in the city of Yongkang, known for its thriving hardware manufacturing sector, the event aims to enhance the competitiveness of China’s hardware products on the international stage. The organizing committee, comprising distinguished representatives from the Yongkang Municipal People’s Government, the Yongkang Science and Technology Bureau, and Zhejiang Yongkang Hardware Productivity Promotion Center Co., Ltd., is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and fairness. They meticulously oversee every aspect of the competition, from the selection of judges to the evaluation process, ensuring that only the most innovative and outstanding designs are recognized and rewarded.
