Royal Enfield has revealed the Himalayan 750, its largest-displacement motorcycle yet, ahead of the bike’s public debut at EICMA in Milan on November 3, 2026. Autocar India confirmed the entry into the 750cc segment, positioning the new adventure tourer squarely against the Norton Atlas and the Kawasaki Versys 650.
This is Royal Enfield’s first crack at a 750cc machine. The model packs a parallel-twin engine built on the company’s existing 650cc platform, but with bigger pistons and a fresh stroke. NewsBytes reported the headline electronics: cruise control, traction control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) are all standard. For a brand that has built its name on thumping single-cylinder bikes, the leap to a twin in an adventure frame is a big bet.
The Himalayan 750 is not a stretched 450. Reports from carandbike and Gaadiwaadi confirm the bike gets a new frame, updated suspension travel, and a larger fuel tank. The 750cc twin is expected to produce around 47-50 bhp and roughly 40 Nm of torque, though Royal Enfield has not published final figures. The bike also gets a TFT display, switchable riding modes, and a slip-assist clutch as standard.
ZigWheels released a gallery of the new model, showing a design that stays faithful to the Himalayan family: upright seating, a tall windscreen, spoked wheels, and a side-mounted exhaust. There is no word yet on wheel sizes, but spy shots suggest a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear combination, a setup that works well for both highway cruising and light off-roading.
Royal Enfield is not entering a vacant segment. The Norton Atlas and the Kawasaki Versys 650 are established players, and the Kawasaki is a proven commuter-adventure hybrid. The Himalayan 750’s main advantage is price. Royal Enfield has a reputation for undercutting rivals, and the 750 is likely to land around ₹9 lakh (ex-showroom) when it arrives in India. That would be several lakhs cheaper than the Versys 650 and the Norton Atlas.
The larger question is whether Indian buyers will accept a 750cc twin from a brand best known for 350cc and 650cc bikes. The 650cc Interceptor and Continental GT have earned Royal Enfield respect in the middleweight segment, and the Himalayan 450 has proven the brand can build a capable adventure bike. The 750 is a logical step up, but it puts Royal Enfield in direct competition with bigger, more established names.
For the Indian rider, the Himalayan 750 is more than a new model. It signals a shift in how Royal Enfield sees its future. The company has been clear about its ambition to lead the middleweight adventure segment in India and abroad. A 750cc twin with modern electronics is a boldly placed flag. The bike is likely to be a strong seller if the price stays under ₹10 lakh, and the brand’s service network is already deep in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
But there are risks. The 750cc engine is new, and reliability is unproven. The added weight and height of an adventure tourer may put off shorter riders. And the cruise control and TPMS, while impressive on paper, add complexity that could become a maintenance headache in areas where service support is thin. Still, Royal Enfield has a track record of turning skeptics into fans.
The Himalayan 750 will be shown in full at EICMA on November 3, 2026. Royal Enfield is expected to announce India bookings shortly after, with deliveries likely in early 2027. The company has not revealed a date for the India launch, but the interest is already building. Whether the 750 becomes the country’s favourite adventure bike depends on the final price and the first ride reviews.
