Xiaomi has begun the global rollout of HyperOS 4, bringing Android 17, a redesigned Soft Light Glass interface and new AI tools to eligible Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones and tablets this month. The POCO F8 Pro is in the first global batch, and the company’s schedule covers more than 80 devices across 82 global SKUs.
The POCO F8 Pro is among the first devices to receive HyperOS 4 outside China. Xiaomi lists it in the first global rollout batch, with a redesigned interface, performance improvements, AI-powered tools and additional privacy features. The update was first announced in China in August and pits Xiaomi directly against OPPO’s ColorOS 17.
HyperOS 4 is not limited to flagship phones. Xiaomi confirmed that both phones and tablets are in the rollout plan, and more than 30 smartphones are scheduled for global release this month.
ShiftDelete.Net has mapped the rollout for 82 global Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices. The sequence puts the Xiaomi 17 series in early November, the Xiaomi 15 series in mid-November, and the Xiaomi 14 and 13 series in December.
| Wave | Devices | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| First global batch | POCO F8 Pro and others | This month |
| Flagship early batch | Xiaomi 17 series | Early November |
| Flagship mid batch | Xiaomi 15 series | Mid-November |
| Older flagships | Xiaomi 14 and 13 series | December |
The same wave structure explains why eligibility matters: users with a POCO phone or a Redmi model should check where their specific series falls rather than assume the whole family moves together.
The visible change is the Soft Light Glass design language, which Gadgets coverage describes as a glass-style redesign. Underneath that, HyperOS 4 is built on Android 17 and adds smarter AI tools along with extra privacy features. GSMArena reported a deeper integration with iOS, including easier sharing of photos.
Performance is part of the pitch too. The POCO F8 Pro update specifically lists performance improvements, while the broader package leans on AI-powered tools and privacy changes. Those are the concrete hooks Xiaomi is using for the global launch.
Multiple eligible-device lists now exist for HyperOS 4 across Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO, and TechRepublic frames the rollout as covering more than 80 devices. The confirmed roadmap names over 30 smartphones for this month’s global markets, then continues into the November and December waves.
Indian users have a confirmed timeline and eligible-device list to track, with Digit publishing the India launch details separately. The open question is how fast regional batches expand after the first global wave. The next concrete checkpoint is the Xiaomi 17 series update in early November.
