15 Billion Packets Sold Globally, Chinas Wujiang Now World Famous!

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Some days ago, the famed New York Times Square screen in Manhattan displayed a message in Chinese (15 billion packets of Wujiang Chinese Mustard Pickle sold globally), drawing a lot of attention.

Wujiang Chinese Mustard Pickle is the leader of the Chinese pickle industry. On January 18th, 2021, there was a fan celebration event for the global sales of 15 billion packets and it was showcased in eight urban landmarks such as Beijing, Shanghai, and New York. As a result, people were able to see how famous this Chinese brand had become, all over the world.

Wujiang Chinese Mustard Pickle has been renowned for several years now. In 1970, there was a sauce & pickle appraisal conference where Wujiang Chinese Mustard Pickle, German Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage, and French Pickled Cucumber received tremendous accolades and were called the three famous pickles of the world’. Wujiang Pickle passed the FDA quality certification of the United States in 1997 and it is now exported to over 50 countries and regions.

In China, pickles are a favorite of celebrities and stars. They have a crispy texture and a delectable taste, act like an appetizer, and are healthy and suitable for people of all ages. The pickle has been an integral part of people’s diet for thousands of years, and the literati and royalty alike, have praised the pickle, for instance from Zhuge Liang of the Three Kingdoms Period, Su Shi of the Song Dynasty, Li Shizhen of the Ming Dynasty, Empress Dowager Cixi of the Qing Dynasty, to Lu Xun, Lao She, and Eileen Chang from more modern times. Young stars like Guan Xiaotong, Zhang Liang, Ya-Li Huang, band members of Wutiaoren, and Lin Yushen have also shown their fondness for Wujiang Pickle.

The big news is that 15 billion packets of Wujiang Pickle have been sold globally. This isn’t just a record-breaking sales of a tasty food item but also depicts the national trend of China exporting her culinary culture. It quite rightly epitomizes the exchange between China and the world when it comes to culinary culture.
