2021 Smart Business Forum and Presentation – Online Exhibition Opens on Nov. 26

TAIPEI, Taiwan–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#Business–Through digital tools like AI, retailers can predict the sales of customers’ favorite products and replenish them in real time, which also reduces stock depletion, allowing everyone to shop and eat happily without worrying about being infected. The Department of Commerce of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has held the “2021 Smart Business Forum and Presentation” online to present the results of its efforts in 2021 to implement smart technology in collaboration with retail and logistics companies, which attracted participants from industries, academia and research institutes.

The business environment is changing rapidly and COVID-19 pandemic has changed people’s lifestyles as well as consumption behaviors. The rise of zero-contact modes such as remote work, online meetings and online shopping has become the new norm for maintaining business operations and competitiveness. Therefore, MOEA has assisted retail and logistics services in using smart technology for digital transformation. The event brought together more than 10 companies in the retail and logistics fields to showcase the results of their digital transformation efforts with MOEA over the past year.

In the keynote presentations of this online event, MOEA arranged three speeches by inviting representatives of Family Mart, Ally Logistic Property and ACCUPASS to share the application of smart technology in retail and logistics service, and how to create better customer services through data analysis; in the panel forum, MOEA invited Taiwanese companies to discuss the new trends in the retail and logistics fields so that we can better understand the strategies and future business opportunities of using smart technology for digital transformation; there are also hot topics such as cultivation of talents for digital transformation, in addition to precautions and protection measures for international logistics information security.

Before the pandemic is over, MOEA will keep making efforts to promote digital transformation for Taiwanese companies. This event will drive smart technology to be better utilized in retail and logistics sectors in Taiwan and also help open up innovative business opportunities.
