A Leading Triathlon returns to Miramar Beach, Florida this summer for the 30th year in a row.

Online PR News – 30-July-2016 – The 30th Annual Triathlon returns to Miramar Beach, Florida on Saturday, August 20th, 2016. Formerly known as the Elephant Walk Triathlon, this triathlon is a historical event for the South Walton Beach area. The half-mile swim in the Gulf of Mexico, the 20-mile bike ride along the coast and the 4-mile run through beach and bayside neighborhoods will attract over 700 competitors from all over the country.

On Friday, August 19th, 2016, the 30th Annual Triathlon expo we will be held at the Exhibit Hall. Participants can pick up their race packets here as well as at The Beach House parking lot at the day of the event. Three race numbers will be in the race packets and are required to display during the event. At 5:00am Saturday morning body marking and transition areas are open in the parking lot of The Beach House. Parking for participants and observers is available at The Market Shops.

The 30th Annual Triathlon is a USAT Sanctioned Event. All participants must be familiar with the rules before entering the race. Timing chips can be picked up with packets. Each chip is encoded with your specific registration data. The chip must be affixed to either ankle prior to the swim start and must be worn during the entire event. Athletes are responsible for crossing the timing mats at the end of each segment and for the safe return of the chip at the finish line.

Solo and relay teams are invited to run across powder white sand for a swim in the Gulf of Mexico as well as bike and run alongside emerald green waters. The reward continues when participants cross the finish line. Live music, food and beer can be had the moment the finish line has been crossed at The Beach House pool deck.
