Cepton to Feature State-of-the-art, Intelligent Lidar Solutions for Automotive and Smart Mobility in Japan

SAN JOSE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#adas–Cepton Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of high performance lidars headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, will be showcasing its latest market-leading lidar solutions for smart mobility at Automotive World 2020, to be held in Portmesse Nagoya, Japan, from October 21st to Oct 23rd, 2020.

Visitors to the event can find Cepton at Booth 3-6 in the Autonomous Driving Technology Expo section (located in Exhibition Hall 3). Ceptons booth will feature the company’s state-of-the-art Vista® series lidar sensors and the award-winning Helius™ Smart Lidar System. Built with Cepton’s unique, patented MMT® architecture – a frictionless, mirrorless, non-rotational scanning method – the Vista series lidars achieve the right balance between performance, high reliability, outstanding embeddability, and cost, making them ideally suited for autonomous driving (AD) / advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The Helius Smart Lidar System combines Cepton lidars with advanced perception software to deliver intelligent, real-time 3D object detection, tracking and classification. Cepton’s newly appointed Japan Country Manager, Andrew Klaus, will provide live demos with the Vista lidars and Helius and provide more product information.

On October 21st, Klaus will deliver a 40-minute presentation during the event on how Cepton develops high performance, reliable and cost-effective lidars for AD/ADAS applications with deep Tier 1 collaboration. Klaus will also share information about Cepton’s newly released automotive-grade lidar sensor, the Vista-X90, which is a compact, low-cost, high resolution, long range lidar tailored for high-volume AD and ADAS programs. Please join Klaus’ session at Seminar Venue G, Exhibition Hall 3, at 12:30 pm (JST).

With rapidly growing demand from the Japan market, Cepton has continued to expand its business activities in this region. Earlier this year, Cepton announced its Series C financing led by the Japan-based Koito Manufacturing, Co., Ltd., the world’s largest automotive lighting Tier 1. Koito has also obtained non-exclusive rights to manufacture and sell Cepton’s lidar sensor design for an automotive application, using key components supplied by Cepton.

To support its increasing presence in Japan, Cepton has been working closely with several established distribution partners, who will be joining Cepton’s booth at Automotive World 2020 as well. At Cepton’s booth, visitors can expect to talk to representatives from Macnica, Nihon Binary and Kanematsu to learn about Cepton’s state-of-the-art lidar solutions.
