Clever Content in the Cloud: Edalex Content Services (ECS)

Edalex, an EdTech services provider, today announced the launch of Edalex Content Services (ECS), a suite of platform-agnostic, cloud-based extensions delivering “clever content in the cloud.”

Melbourne, Australia, July 31, 2019 –(PR.com)– Edalex, an EdTech services provider, today announced the launch of Edalex Content Services (ECS), a suite of platform-agnostic, cloud-based extensions delivering “clever content in the cloud.”

Developed in close consultation with educational design partners, ECS enables institutions and their users to extend the content capabilities of existing educational platforms. ECS incorporates rapidly evolving technologies such as machine learning from 3rd party providers including Amazon and Google to deliver innovative content-centric services.

Key to the power of ECS is the automation of processes relating to effective content management, its platform-agnostic approach, rapid deployment options, and provision of rich data and analytics.

“We believe that ECS will change the way institutions manage their content across a range of educational platforms,” said Dan McFadyen, Managing Director, Edalex. “For too long, the burden has fallen on end users – delivering ‘clever content in the cloud’ helps to remove that burden.”

The first service to launch is ECS AutoTag, which uses machine learning to analyse images and documents and automatically generates metadata tags, streamlining the contribution process for academics, while also improving categorisation for easy discovery.

“As a design partner, we’re excited by ECS AutoTag’s potential to dramatically reduce our workload by enabling us to tag key institutional assets in bulk,” said Mahbub Hassan, Learning Technologies Systems Administrator, Macquarie University. “The service automates the process of classifying content, ensuring we can maximise our investment in producing rich and discoverable, high quality content.”

ECS AutoTag is available now for the openEQUELLA digital repository and leading LMS platforms. A second service, ECS Video, will be launched in late 2019. For more information, visit www.edalex.com/ecs.
