CyberLink FaceMe Tops Facial Recognition Vendor Test

With its facial recognition solution FaceMe, CyberLink ranks first1 among global vendors in the latest NIST FRVT WILD test

TAIPEI, Taiwan–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#CyberLinkCyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a pioneer in AI and facial recognition technologies, and developer of the FaceMe® AI facial recognition algorithm, achieved a top six ranking in the latest 1:N Identification (WILD, 1E-5) Facial Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT). When excluding a handful of vendors from China who do not have free access to global markets, FaceMe® ranks No. 1. The test is a leading authority on facial recognition precision within the industry and is conducted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

When applied to WILD (1E-5) tests, FaceMe® achieved a high accuracy rate of 96.98%. The WILD (1E-5) test is designed to mimic real-life security and surveillance scenarios for facial recognition. Facial recognition technologies are tested against conditions like extreme angles, poor lighting or partially occluded views. FaceMe® has proven to be an industry-leading solution for security and surveillance, delivering the most accurate facial recognition engine and offering the highest level of data privacy and protection on the market.

FaceMe® also achieved high marks for mask detection and protection, achieving a global seventh ranking when excluding vendors from China and Russia, and improving by 50% from the last NIST assessment. It has been celebrated as one of the most accurate technologies to recognize faces when wearing masks, proving valuable to businesses across industries, including offices, hospitals, retailers and more that seek to deploy contactless biometric identification solutions that help protect the health and safety of individuals.

“We are honored to be a leader in facial recognition technology. FaceMe® top ranking in the NIST FRVT WILD Test1 continues to prove the superiority of our facial recognition technology,” said Dr. Jau Huang, CEO of CyberLink. “The WILD test is one of the most competitive tests in the industry, trusted by many commercial end-users when evaluating facial recognition vendors, and we’re thrilled about FaceMe®’s latest ranking. We are committed to providing the best-in-class, most accurate and most secure solution to the market and will continue to innovate and improve the FaceMe® algorithm to best suit end-user needs.”

FaceMe® is optimized to run across hardware configurations, from high-end workstations to low-power chipsets frequently used in IoT and AIoT devices. It is the most versatile and adaptable solution on the market today. FaceMe® provides system integrators with fast, flexible and extremely precise facial recognition that can be deployed across a number of scenarios, including security, access control, public safety, fintech, smart retail and home protection.
