Floating University- World Odyssey – Will Reach Indian Shore Tomorrow

On January 05, 2016, �the program’s newest vessel,The World Odyssey, departed from San Diego, United States at the start of the Spring 2016 voyage for her role as the latest Semester at Sea campus.
Each excursion is designed with students in mind to provide a unique experience that brings to life the historic and cultural aspects of each country.
This Ship will serve as a traveling home and campus that brings approximately 600 undergraduate students to the farthest reaches of the globe every semester, giving deeper meaning to education, experiential learning, and community.

The ship has a similar feel to a college or university with her architecture and design, and meets all SAS requirements including safety, program features, and efficiencies.

SPRING 2016 A Voyage Around the World starts January 05, 2016 and ends at April 16, 2016. Their Plan is to visit countries around the world and study.

They already visited Yokohama, Japan ,Kobe, Japan ,Shanghai, China Hong Kong, China Ho Chi Minh City, Vi?t Nam, Rangoon, Burma.

They will also Visit Port Louis, Mauritius 3, Cape Town, South Africa, Takoradi, Ghana, Tema (Accra), Ghana , Casablanca, Morocco and Debark at Southampton (London), England.

In India they Spend two nights with a local family in the Allepey backwaters as part of a cultural homestay,
Visit the Ganges River at dawn
Learn about Ayurvedic alternative medical treatment practices
Partner with a social worker for a day tending to the needs of local children at the Saandhwanam Charitable Society orphanage
Discover the splendor of the Taj Mahal
Ride in a rickshaw
