Gionee Marathon M5 Lite with 4000mAh battery launched in India at Rs.12,999

Gionee launches the Marathon M5 Lite in India at a price of Rs 12,999. The smartphone is now available for purchase via the company website. The device which was launched in China sports the 16GB internal storage variant along with 1GB RAM, priced at CNY 999 (approximately Rs 10,000).

The smartphone features a 5-inch HD IPS display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor and paired with 3GB RAM. It includes an internal storage of 32GB, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

The Gionee Marathon M5 Lite runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop on top of Amigo 3.0. The smartphone comes equipped with an 8MP rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. One will also find an ambient light sensor, gravity sensor and proximity sensor. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi and MicroUSB.

The main USP of the phone is its 4000mAh Li-Po battery. The company states that the smartphone is rated to deliver up to 40 hours of talk time, 68 hours of music playback, 3 days of regular use, 39 days of standby time and can charge other smartphones as well.
