Goodyear Brings Iconic Tyre Technologies to Auto Expo 2016

In line with its culture of innovation, Goodyear showcased at the 13th Auto Expo some of its most iconic products that have shaped the history of tyre technology, defined its present range and offered a glimpse into the technologies of the future.

The company’s ‘Challenging the Limits’ display included two ground-breaking concept tyres unveiled for the first time in India that could radically transform the role of car tyres in the future. Though these are concept products, the futuristic technologies stretch the imagination and provide a peek of practical innovations on the horizon.

“Our products displayed at the Expo represent an essential aspect of Goodyear’s consumer-centric innovation strategy, which constantly instils a forward-looking, market-back mindset in the company’s research and development teams,” said Mike Rytokoski, Goodyear’s Vice President for consumer tyres in Asia Pacific, “Our concept tyres reimagine the role that tyres may play in the future. We envision a future in which our products become more integrated with the vehicle and the consumer, more environmentally friendly and more versatile.”

The first concept, named ‘BHO’, offers the possibility of charging the batteries of electric cars by transforming the heat generated by the rolling tyre into electrical energy. The second concept, named ‘Triple Tube’, contains three tubes that adjust tyre inflation pressure in response to changing road conditions, delivering new levels of performance and versatility.

Speaking of Goodyear’s showcase at the Auto Expo, Rajeev Anand, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Goodyear India said, “Our culture of innovation is not just confined to our history. As a pioneer in tyre technology and innovation, we consistently keep challenging ourselves to develop products that offer better driving experience to consumers.”

Goodyear also showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo some of its breakthrough technologies across its century-old history of innovation that are great examples of challenging the limits. These included tyres used in aviation industry, NASCAR® and RunOnFlat™ tyres. Also on display were some of the most cutting-edge tyre technologies from Goodyear India’s current portfolio: Assurance TripleMax with superior wet braking, Wrangler ATSA offering durability and Efficientgrip for low noise and ride comfort.
