Inaugural Takeoff: Luxury Carrier STARLUX Airlines Debuts San Francisco-Taipei Transpacific Flight on December 16

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On Saturday, December 16th, Taiwan-based luxury carrier, STARLUX Airlines' inaugural flight from San Francisco to Taipei will take off at 11:40pm. An inaugural flight celebration and pre-flight ceremony will take place at its departure gate at San Francisco International Airport from 9:00pm-10:15pm, with speeches by various officials and executives including the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office (TECO), SF Mayor’s office, SFO Airport, and Alaska Airlines.


Founded on the philosophy that luxury should be available to everyone, STARLUX is launching its second US gateway destination after Los Angeles and offers a new route for US passengers flying to Taipei and onward to 20 Asian destinations. STARLUX will begin flying one of its four next-generation A350 Neos thrice weekly between SFO and TPE. Service will ramp to daily in March.

The launch event will feature speakers and guests connected to the airline and the city. In addition, the program will include a ribbon and cake cutting, refreshments, entertainment, and special gifts. Photo opportunities are also available.
