IRGC warns of ‘devastating response’ as Trump says fresh strikes unlikely and Katz keeps Iran mission open

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned of a “devastating response” to any US-Israeli attack on Thursday, even as President Donald Trump said fresh US strikes on Iran are “highly unlikely” and talks to end the war advance.

Iran’s navy issued a parallel warning to US forces, saying the enemy will no longer dare to attack, and Tehran repeated its position that there will be no ceasefire until sanctions are removed. The Israel-Iran war has stretched into a full diplomatic standoff — Qatari proposals are on the table in talks, the US has told its citizens to stay alert, and a building in Israel has been hit.

IRGC and navy issue fresh threats as US warns citizens

The IRGC’s warning of a “devastating response” came after US forces and their Israeli partners carried out strikes. Trump, for his part, said American forces remain “locked and loaded”, ready to strike if necessary. Iran responded by threatening to “rain down hell” if the US escalates, Al Jazeera reported.

The US issued a worldwide caution advising Americans, particularly those travelling in the Middle East, to remain vigilant, News18 reported. Iran’s navy told US forces the enemy will no longer dare to attack, The Times of India reported.

Trump: fresh strikes ‘highly unlikely’ as talks advance

Trump’s assessment came as diplomatic efforts to end the US-Iran war continued alongside growing fears of renewed military action. Iran is considering Qatari proposals, The Times of India reported, though Tehran’s conditions remain stiff: no ceasefire until sanctions are removed.

Iran says forces stronger than at war’s start

Despite the strikes, Iran said its forces are “stronger” than at the beginning of the war, The Hindu reported. That claim of resilience underpins Tehran’s refusal to soften its demand on sanctions and its warnings of retaliation.

Katz: mission not complete, Hezbollah warned

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said the mission against Iran is “not complete”. He renewed charges that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons — a claim Tehran denies — and warned Hezbollah of severe retaliation if the Lebanon-based group joins any renewed attack.

Netanyahu squeezed in Jerusalem and Washington

Netanyahu’s political position has weakened sharply. Rival Gadi Eisenkot is set to form a government, a shake-up that could reshape Israel’s Iran and Gaza war strategy — though a change in leadership may not necessarily alter the country’s military approach towards Iran and Gaza.

In Washington, support is eroding across party lines. Ron DeSantis slammed Israeli regime-change efforts during the Iran war, warning that the elimination of Tehran’s leadership and the attempted regime change backfired. Opposition to the war and to Israel’s conduct in Gaza is spreading, and the shift could threaten billions of dollars in military aid, Moneycontrol reported.

Israel’s UN Ambassador Danny Danon pushed back, saying the Iran war was a “US decision” and that it was unfair to link rising oil prices and the economic fallout of the war to Israel — a defence aimed at insulating Netanyahu from blame over the Republicans’ midterm setback.

Iran continues to weigh the Qatari proposals while insisting sanctions must go before any ceasefire. Eisenkot’s bid to form a new government in Jerusalem moves ahead on the watch.
