La Residence Wins Recognition as 14th Best Hotel in Asia

Property continues its winning ways on Cond Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards.

Hue, Vietnam, November 09, 2018 --(PR.com)-- La Residence Hotel & Spa cemented its reputation as one of Asia's most distinguished hotels last month when readers of Cond Nast Traveler lauded the hotel as the 14th best in Asia.

La Residence was one of just five hotels in Vietnam to land on a list of Asia's top 20 hotels. Likewise, the hotel won placement on the same top-20 list last year, continuing a streak that began all the way back in 2007 when the hotel was elevated by the same magazine on its coveted Hot List.

"In the same way that replicating results is a test of a theory's legitimacy in science, we look at our placement on this list again this year as confirmation that we're doing a whole bunch of things right," said the hotel's general manager Phan Trong Minh.

Two years ago, La Residence rated the No. 15 spot on Cond Nast Traveler's list of top hotels in Southern Asia. In 2015, the hotel was No. 13 on the Cond Nast list.

Announced in New York on Oct. 9, Cond Nast Traveler's 31st annual compendium is the result of a voting process that stretched from spring to summer, with participation by more than 429,000 readers.

The magazine's editors reported that its voters preferences were for hotels like La Residence: "Quiet. Small. Subdued. This is what travelers seem to be craving this year."

About La Residence Hue Hotel & Spa

Set on a two-hectare site with 200 meters of frontage on the fabled Perfume River, La Residence celebrated its grand opening in December 2005 after a painstaking restoration of the 1930-built mansion. The hotel's distinctive bowed faade, its long horizontal lines and nautical flourishes are hallmarks of the streamline moderne school of art deco architecture.

The hotel's 122 rooms and suites, restaurants, lounges, bars and conference room are tricked out in complementary art-deco furnishings and dcor that evoke both the 1920s and 1950s. The hotel's fine-dining venue, Le Parfum, serves Mediterranean and French cuisine, as well as dishes from an expansive Vietnamese menu.
