Low-Cost Microsoft Lumia 550 Now on Sale

Microsoft’s Lumia 550 is now on sale in Europe and will come to other global markets (including India) “in the coming weeks.”

The Windows 10-based device, which goes for $139 (Rs.9,000), is designed for budget-conscious shoppers. The LTE-equipped smartphone features a 4.7-inch HD screen, a removable battery, and runs a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor. It has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera to complement its 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Lumia 550 runs the full version of Windows 10, allowing users to talk to virtual personal assistant Cortana, save documents in OneDrive, and work on everything from Word to Skype. It’s available in matte black and glossy white.

Microsoft announced the Lumia 550 in October alongside its new Lumia 950 and 950 XL flagships. The Windows 10 also shows how the company is way behind iOS and Android in third-party support.

In India we are sure if they sell this phone for Rs.9K then Microsoft will have a tough time to sell this. We have better phones lined up for this price, In 2015-16 Rs.9,000 phone is not a low cost Mobile.
