Maruti Baleno overtakes Hyundai Elite i20 in Nov 2015 sales

As per Sales figures for Nov 2015, Maruti’s latest premium hatchbacks overtakes Hyundai Elite i20 in Sales. As per the report from NDTV Maruti Suzuki Baleno Bookings Cross 40,000;

This was the first month for Maruti’s new premium hatchback. At the moment, this segment has the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and the Honda Jazz. The Elite i20 has the segment leader but Maruti has moved ahead of the Hyundai premium hatchback in its first month.

But it’s too early to come to any kind of conclusion. Both the Baleno and the Elite i20 are great packages on offer. Maruti Baleno sold 8396 units (wholesale), while the Hyundai Elite i20 did 7252 units. The Elite i20 and the Baleno have expanded the segment. Honda doesn’t have the production capacity like Hyundai or Maruti and hence it cannot compete in sheer numbers at the moment. All the three hatchbacks are strong and a lot of young buyers have picked these premium hatchbacks.

As the demand for Maruti Suzuki Baleno persists, the carmaker may already be looking at plans to expand the hatchback’s line-up.

Maruti Baleno is A great value-for-money package that’s hard to resist.
Hyundai i20 is more premium of the two, but not as good value.
