MEP Speech Inspires Lyrics for New Single Calais and Dover by Jennifer Juan

London, United Kingdom, September 02, 2019 --(PR.com)-- On the 6th of September, the new track Calais and Dover by writer and musician Jennifer Juan will be released across all major streaming platforms and digital music stores as a single, on Underground Wonderland Records. Taken from the Deluxe Edition of Juan's upcoming EP Sleepwalking, Calais and Dover is a gentle indie ballad, describing lost love, and the search for a road back to happiness, with an unusual source of inspiration.

Speaking about the track, Juan said, "I think Brexit has been on my mind since 2016, like it has for a lot of us in the UK, so I took the confusion and chaos of Brexit, and tried to turn it into something about real, personal life."

Embarking on several live dates over the summer and autumn to promote her 2019 book, "Ol' Brown Eyes Is Back," which became an Amazon Bestseller in it's first week of release, and celebrating the launch of the third season of her podcast, Sincerely Jennifer x, 2019 has been a good year for Juan, with a new EP on the way to join Calais and Dover, along with many other exciting projects Juan has planned for release throughout the rest of the year, including an interactive poetry and short story experience for Halloween.

Discussing one of the most haunting but hopeful lines from the song, "You always left the light on, so I could find my way home," Juan said, "There was a speech by an MEP, Alyn Smith, and he said something similar to that, and I have always thought it was so beautiful, so I wanted to try and include a sentiment like that in the lyrics." Juan refers to the heartfelt pro Europe speech by SNP MEP Alyn Smith, which went viral across social media, gaining hundreds of thousands of views on Twitter alone.

Calais And Dover by Jennifer Juan is available from September 6th 2019, on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and all major digital stores and streaming services, and is also available to stream and purchase as part of the Deluxe Edition of Sleepwalking by Jennifer Juan, which is available from Bandcamp and JenniferJuan.com.
